Established in Memory of Philip and Gwen Brereton
The Brereton Memorial Fund is a restricted fund under the auspices of
The Incorporated Association of Organists and supported by the
OLDHAM, ROCHDALE & TAMESIDE ORGANISTS’ ASSOCIATION
About The Fund
The Brereton Memorial Fund was founded in memory of Philip and Gwen Brereton who died in December 2000.
Throughout their lives they gave up much of their free-time to work as volunteers for the Incorporated Association of Organists, the Royal College of Organists and the Oldham Rochdale and Tameside Organists’ Association.
For many years Philip and Gwen were well-known as the Organisers of the IAO Annual Congress.
In particular they worked to help youngsters discover organ and choral music and were especially keen to encourage British organists to explore organ building and organ music throughout Europe and beyond.
The Brereton Memorial Fund is an on-going fund which aims to help organists and choirs, young and old. In order to enable us to carry out our work into the future the fund needs to grow over time.
Please think about how you could help the fund in one of the following ways;
