Police Surgeries
The Officers from the Rochdale North Neighbourhood Policing Team who patrol and work in the Healey Ward
PC Rhys Ibbotson as now been working in the area for the past 4 months and together with PCSOs Lauren Whelan and Martin Smith has worked hard to build up the trust of the local community the links between the North Area Neighbourhood Policing Team Police and the community which through the work of previous officers and the PCSO’s are well established in Healey Ward.
The Officers have their own work station in the Community Base office which they share with other staff members. Together with PC Rhys Ibbotson they all attend the Healey Ward Forum and the PACT Interagency meeting when their shift pattern allows on a monthly basis. They call into the base at all times during their working week, so if you need to report any issues you can leave a message with a staff member and they will willingly pass this on. Also every month the local PCSO's hold a surgery at the Community Base, offering advice and guidance to local people on a variety of anti-crime issues. This provides an opportunity for local people to raise their concerns about local issues that have a direct impact upon their lives.
This close partnership working and lots of new initiatives that together we have put into place have helped to reduce and maintain the low crime figures in the area, and will in the long term help to reduce crime and the fear of crime
