Regional competition
Each year there are one or two regional competitions, these are usually held in Newport, South Wales. They provide an opportunity for players from different clubs to play together and test their skills against other regions. The age groups will be Under 16, Under 14 and Under 12, Ages as at 1st September 2014. If anyone is interested in competing for North Region, please let me know ASAP so I can liaise with other North Region coaches and organise the teams.
Batley competition
Batley club are hosting a tournament on Saturday 14th February 3:00pm to 7:00pm. This will be for teams with a mixture of Under 14s and Under 12s players. Food will be provided afterwards. This an opportunity for all players to take part, including the newer recruits. I appreciate this is half-term, please let me know if interested.

The date for this is Saturday 24th January 12:30pm to 6:30 pm. Please let me know if interested?
Team T-Shirts and Hoodies
If any of the new members want kit or any of the existing members want more or replacements, Christmas is coming. Please talk to Barrie or Ian
Kit
- Equipment-we only have a limited amount of equipment and more importantly storage. We would encourage any members who have decided that the sport is definitely for them to consider purchasing their own equipment. That way you consistently have the same equipment each week, no issues about whether it fits or not. Also no issues trying to locate the right sizes at the start of the evening (more info about equipment for sale below)
Thanks for taking the trouble to read this, if you have any queries please contact Mick on 07951834903 or Barrie on 07787397279
Mick and Barrie
Kit for sale-
We have a selection of kit for sale, please see Mick on Thursday evenings at 8:30 or 9:00pm (not before the session) or contact on 07951834903 or hydukes@btinternet.com. If any parents want to buy kit for birthday presents, we are good at keeping secrets!!
Equipment
If we don’t have the exact size we can get it at fairly short notice
(any profit made from sale of kit is used to benefit junior hockey)
Masks
I have a few different models which will fit most people, cost £25-30
Bats
Plastic bats designed by one of the top international players, cost between £22 and £40, there are a variety of designs in the club box for you to try.
Hats
If you need a replacement set, these are £14 for a pair (one blue, one white)
Gloves
At present there is only one manufacturer producing gloves and these cost £37. I would have to order these in for you. Barrie is working on making gloves for the club, currently in advanced testing stage by a number of members.
External Mouthguards
£3.50 each, these need to be cut to fit your snorkel. These help protect your mouth from injury and are compulsory for matches; it is highly recommended that they are worn at all times
Snorkels
We have excellent snorkels available with valves for suitable for juniors, and can be fitted with external mouthguards. Cost £15.50 (£19 with mouthguard fitted)
Fins
I would only suggest buying fins if your feet have stopped growing.
There are a lot of fins in shops which are unsuitable for Hockey , either because they have sharp edges(dangerous) or are just too small and floppy(no power) I do have some available for sale covering most sizes. Costs between £30 and £40
Fin Grips
£4 per pair
