Rochdale Mantas Win Batley ROHO Junior UWH Championship
Rochdale Mantas Under 14 team battled consistently to become Junior Champions against teams from Team South West Green (2nd), Xarifa Coyotes (3rd), Batley Tigers, Batley Dragons, TSW Red, Xarifa Cougars and Glasgow Kingfishers. Mantas started well with a 3 - nil win against TSW Red, and followed by a more emphatic 7 - nil win against Batley Dragons. Xarifa Coyotes put up a more spirited defence with both teams scoring before the match went into extra time, but Mantas came through with a 3 - 1 win. In the play-off section Mantas beat Batley Tigers 6 - nil and faced their stiffest opposition with the last match against Team South West Green, both teams matching each others attacks and defences, taking the match into extra time, with Mantas finding the edge - and the goals to end a tense match 2 - nil. Mantas players were Zach Tait (c), Julian Capper (vc), Tiegan Alexander, Grace Morris, Alfie Durkin, Jack Midgely, Harry Tait and Kal Torson.
The club is looking to recruit new members and full training is given.
Practice sessions are held on Thusday nights at Oulder Hill pool from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
