ROCHDALE JUNIOR NETBALL CLUB was established in 1992 with 2 coaches and 1 team of girls. The first team was formed to represent Rochdale in the Greater Manchester Youth Games. Every year since then we have carried out trials for under 9's, under 10's and 11's and since 2017 under 8's. The intake is from Heywood, Middleton, Milnrow and Littleborough as well as Rochdale, in fact our doors are open to anyone within the Greater Manchester area.
Teams range from under 8's to under 16's where we have 14 teams playing in junior leagues & 2 in the Ladies leagues.
Several of our under 16's, 18's and 19's girls have been on umpiring and coaching courses hopefully to encourage them with the participation in these areas and to enhance their sports education, this being our investment for the future.
The club is commited to the All England Action Planning Scheme (CAPS) which is an accredited scheme to monitor and increase player, coach, umpire and club development. We have recently achieved our Silver Caps, which is rewarded by various incentives e.g. access to England Player visits to inspire players.
