Outreach to Eastern Europe through T4U.
Every year our congregation bring along items to be packed into shoeboxes to be sent to some of the poorer Eastern European communities. Approximately 3500 filled boxes are collected by the T4U organizers in late July/August from across the area to be stored in Heywood and then moved to Wrexham. From Wrexham they then start a very long journey to various parts of Europe in time for the children to receive boxes for Christmas.
After filling the boxes with about 25 different items we also include a Christmas card to say where the boxes are from, (in our case, our church), in addition to a photograph of some of the helpers.
The first picture opposite is a group of our shoebox packers. The first lady at the back, Mary wearing a light coloured top, went to be with her Lord in 2020. We still include her photograph, its nice to remember lovely friends.
The second photo is a list of the items placed in the shoeboxes.
