** Rehearsals resume on 4th September 2024 - 7.00pm to 9.00pm **

Middleton Musical Society (founded 1772) provides amateur singers of all ages with the opportunity to meet to rehearse and perform choral music in a wide variety of styles, from madrigal to musical, oratorio to operetta.

Rehearsals are held in the convivial atmosphere of the meeting room at St. Stephen's Church, Cheapside, Middleton on Wednesday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.

New members are always welcome in all four voice sections.

There are no auditions and ability to read music is not essential. The main requirement is to enjoy singing and to be willing to learn new pieces in a sociable and friendly atmosphere.

Meeting times

Middleton Musical Society was founded in 1772, since when its choir has performed on countless occasions to the delight of thousands of members of audiences drawn from the town itself and its neighbouring localities.

Rehearsal.  The choir meets to rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm in St. Stephen's Church, High Street (off Cheapside), Middleton.

Repertory. Members will experience a wide range of styles of music from classical pieces, selections from operetta and musicals etc. to popular songs, both old and new.
