Minutes of the 133rd Meeting held the 15th March 2016 at The United Reform Church Victoria Street Littleborough at 7.30pm
Present:-
John F Kay (in the chair) Barry Horner, Ian Jackson, Bob Weatherley, Bob Furnell, Brian Holden, Keith Hallam, Cllr Ann Stott
- The Minutes of the meeting on 16th February 2016 were approved
- It was confirmed that the Group would become a committee of Littleborough Civic Trust once that body had adopted a new constitution to become a CIO
- An application for grant funds to renovate the Canal Boat from Crook Hill Community Trust had been submitted and acknowledged . A decision will be made on 4th April 2016
- There has been no further progress by Rochdale MBC with the suggested development which will include a small marina. The closing date for expressions of interest was 30th May 2016.
- Bob Furnell continues to raise funds for the canalside café at Ealees. The land was to be used by Galliford-Try while they carried out work for the Environment Agency but they had no interest in acquiring it long term
- The group will be represented at the C & RT Pennine Waterways Forum to be held on 27th April 2016. Items for discussion had to be submitted by 1st April 2016 in order to be included on the agenda.
- The group are looking for a canvass to protect the Boat about 30ft x 12ft. Enquiries will be made.
