Café Boat Scheme
Ian Jackson gave Jon Stopp a copy for his comment and guidance shortly after the last meeting. There has been no feedback yet.
Julian Farnell reported that Shaun Clancy hoped to have a source for pre-owned equipment which would be suitable for the boat and will allow Julian to use his works to make them fit the boat. This will be a considerable saving.
Glen who has a narrowboat moored at Schofield St and who rents part of the building in the old council yard is prepared to help with the work on the boat and to allow this to be done within his premises.
Julian will take up this offer
It will be much easier to launch the boat into the canal if it is on the Schofield Street site where there is room for a crane to lift it into the water.
Barry Horner warned that we need to check the guide to the fitting out of these boats so as to ensure that we would be eligible for a BSS certificate.
John Kay will make arrangement to insure the boat as it will increase in value once fitting out begins
