The North of England Sprint Rowing Championships
The North of England Sprint Rowing Championships have become a must attend event for a host of club rowers around the Country.
Around 300 entries have made this competition one of the biggest One-day Sprint Rowing events and we thank them for their participation in making this such a successful competition.
Rowing crews compete over 500m on an impressive three lane buoyed course, installed by HLRC volunteer members & supporters. The Victor Ludorum Prize is at stake for both Senior & Junior competitions.
In 2012. Bradford R.C. retained their title for the second competition in succession, just beating Hollingworth Lake R.C. by 2 points with Agecroft R.C. taking the third position. A very close finish in 10 hours of racing.
Like Bradford. Warrington R.C. won the Junior Prize for the second competition in succession with an impressive 49 points, in Second place Durham R.C. with 30 points and third position went to Royal Chester R.C. with 29 points, just one point separating second and third positions.
Durham have promised to return in force for the 2013 event after expressing how impressed they were with the area and the competition, preparations are underway with the 2013 competition which will take place on Hollingworth Lake on the 7th September. Can any club knock Bradford or Warrington off their Top Spots in 2013?
HLRC would like to thank the Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club, The Water Activity Centre and all official Umpires for their volunteered support throughout the day at all the Sprint Regattas hosted by HLRC.
