Ollie the owl on the front cover of Streetwise Magazine, which is distributed to more than 7,000 homes in the local area. Denehurst Park featured in two consecutive editions.
Great News! The Rochdale in Bloom Volunteers and RBC staff with a record number of awards at the 2017 awards ceremony in Southport. Rochdale will feature in the Britain in Bloom award in 2018, facing the countries very best

Some stumps were harder to move than others, this stump was safely secured to the bucket of this digger and moved into the stumpery

One of the wheelchair pads located next to a park bench. These hardstanding pads enable people with wheelchairs to sit next to people on the bench. There are 6 of these pads located around the park. Created December 2017
One of the new access paths leading into the sunken lawn. The sunken lawn was previously accessible only by steps from the direction of Denehurst House. These newly created paths will help assist people who cannot use the steps.
The two new access paths were created with the aim of being symmetrical, which would be in keeping with the formal style of the gardens layout.
Route 1 - Circular Field Route (685m) - 3 times around the Circular Field Route is equal to just over 2 km (2055m)
Route 2 - Orchard Route (418m) - 2 times around the Orchard Route is equal to nearly 1 km (836m)
Route 3 - Large Circular Park Route (898m) - Once around the park paths is equal to just under 1 km

Moving the stumps is no easy task. Some stumps weigh close to a ton
Rocks were also brought into the stumpery to add to the overall effect of this naturalised feature

The wildflower seeds were mixed with dry sand and compost to make spreading much easier. The students were then able to see were they had sown

Over 7 tons of Flint Chipping were imported into the stumpery, creating a very decorative touch
The stone which made up the edging of the stumpery beds was locally sourced from Cowm Quarry in Whitworth. The stone is of varying size creating a truly unique look when set in place.
