Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Group - Middleton

Welcome to Our Group

Our group was set up in 2019 by Jade Travis, a young mum of three from Middleton, to support people and their carers who suffer from fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions.

Jade contacted a volunteer co-ordinator from Living Well in Rochdale and with their help the group began in Middleton library. As the numbers grew, the location changed to the Lighthouse Project in Middleton shopping centre. These days, we meet every Wednesday from 12-3pm at the Mind and Wellbeing Cafe on Wood Street.

As a group of volunteers who are registered with Living Well, we offer support and advice about living with the condition. We are also able to assist with applications for benefits, keep up to date with government legislation and run a Facebook page.

At the weekly meetings we sit and chat with like-minded people who understand what we are going through. We also have some great resources such as arts and crafts, information on chronic pain and useful equipment or aids. We are always looking for new ideas too, so as well as encouraging our own members to share their knowledge, occasionally guest speakers are invited.

Needless to say, tea and coffee are also provided along with homemade treats which are sometimes brought in by our members. So, if you would like to join us, and chat over coffee and cake, it would be great to meet you!
