The only local club offering disability football - with 20+ youngsters attending the club at this established weekly session, open to all comers.
Disability football access for all – at Redwood school (on the site it shares with Oulder Hill) and at Bridge JFCs home site in Bamford.
- Bridge launches its disability squad.
- Delivered by local FA recognised club ‘Bridge Juniors fc’ who are based in Bamford, Rochdale and are an FA Charter Standard Development accreditted club.
- Two distinct disability groups, one supported at Redwood school, the other at Hopwood Hall College, Middleton.
- Bridge are a club with 24 different teams, spanning 14 age ranges on 12 pitches every week from 5yrs of age to 18 years of age.
- These teams offer opportunities to boys/girls/mixed and disability squads and teams, with over 300 youngsters actively engaged in sport every week and over 100 adult volunteers who are trained to FA standard in coaching.
- They make a huge difference and impact to the lives of young footballers and their families and contribute immensely to their health and wellbeing every week.
- They are a club who boast a very strong reputation in junior football around the local and regional community and who strive to offer opportunities to all under the motto of ‘Pride, Passion and Respect.’
- The aim is opportunity for all, and in their disability squad they put into practice this objective – all comers are welcomed and encouraged to attend irrespective of their ability – it is about enjoying their experience and being the best that they can be.
