Fire at St Michael’s Church, Bamford

St Michael’s Church in Bamford has been damaged after a fire broke out in the entrance porch of the building this morning (Monday 2 March).
Firefighters were called to the scene just before 7.00am with crews from Rochdale and Heywood sent to tackle the blaze.
The firefighters managed to contain the fire in the porch area and avoided further damage being caused to the building.
St Michael’s Church is located on the junction of Bury and Rochdale Old Road and Queens Park Road.
An investigation into what caused the fire is currently under way.
