Good results for Key Stage 2 tests
Date published: 01 August 2012
Y6 (11 year old) children in the borough’s primary schools have achieved well, with good results this year in Key Stage 2 tests. Children have achieved some of Rochdale's highest results in the last few years. All L4+ and L5+ results are above national averages.
Councillor Donna Martin, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families at Rochdale Borough Council, said the results were particularly pleasing: “Children and primary schools have done really well this year, we are particularly pleased that an increased focus on ensuring more able pupils achieve their full potential in English and Maths has also proved a huge success.
"I’m pleased to see a significant increase in achievement and, for the first time, Rochdale borough is above the national average. These results are testament to the continuing hard work of school staff, pupils and governors across the borough with whom the council is proud to work in partnership.”
