Rochdale Sixth Form College celebrates diversity

Date published: 27 July 2012

Irish Dancing, Zap Graffiti and Japanese School were just a few of the activities on offer to the public at Rochdale Sixth Form College recently – in a ‘Celebrating Rochdale Day’ which embraced the diversity and equality that Rochdale has to offer.

Opening its doors to the public for the day, Rochdale residents were able to get a glimpse of the College’s state-of-the-art facilities.

As well as taking part in a wide variety of activities, there was an array of stalls to visit,  hosted by local organisations, including the Lesbian and Gay Association, Fire Brigade Recruitment and the Rochdale Hedgehog Society, to learn more about each group.

Angela Rudd, Senior Administrator at Rochdale Sixth Form College comments: “The day was an all-round success.

"Staff and students, were given the chance to learn more about different groups, organisations and campaign groups in and around Rochdale, which they hadn’t had the chance to encounter before.

"Each person left the event feeling that much more knowledgeable about the diverse mix Rochdale, as a town, has to offer.”
