Electrification of the overhead power lines between Oldham Mumps (temporary) stop and Rochdale Train Station stop, that includes all the intermediate areas around the new Metrolink stops in Newhey, Milnrow and Kingsway, will happen in the next few days.
Once switched on, the overhead lines that run above the tramway will continuously carry electricity at a high voltage of 750 volts. The overhead lines should be considered 'live' as of Friday 27 July 2012.
