Year 10 students get an insight into Rochdale Sixth Form College life

Date published: 25 July 2012

Over 700 Year 10 pupils from local schools hoping to continue their studies at Rochdale Sixth Form College, visited the college for a three day taster event to get an invaluable insight into A Level life.

Prospective students from Middleton Technology, Oulder Hill, Wardle, Siddal Moor, Holy Family, Hollingworth and Matthew Moss High Schools, picked out subjects they are hoping to study at A Level, and attended classes, as they would at the college.

In between the taster classes, the pupils were able to visit the on-site café, which serves a selection of hot food and Starbucks coffee, have a look around the college facilities – including the theatre and sports hall, and chat to staff and students to get a feel for life at Rochdale Sixth Form College.

Angela Rudd, Senior College Administrator at Rochdale Sixth Form College comments: “The event was an all-round success, and each and every prospective student took a lot away from their College visit.

"Having visited our state of the art facilities and after meeting staff and students – these pupils will now be able to make an informed decision on where to apply to study for their A Levels, and we hope to see many of them back in 2013.”
