Pungent Pirates set sail

The children in class three and four at St John with St Michael CE Primary School in Shawforth have spent two weeks learning their parts, making props and preparing costumes for thier summer production of "Pirates of The Curry Bean".
It's anchors away and set sail for a swashbuckling pirate adventure.
Jack & Liza Periwinkle, played by Elliott Baldwin and Leonni Tighe, yearn for adventure, so imagine their joy at discovering a real life treasure map!
But when the infamous Redbeard, Codie Fox, and his pungent Pirates of the Curry Bean steal the map and kidnap their mother Pearl, Lauren Tighe, the race is on to rescue her, reclaim the map and find the treasure!
Accompanied by their faithful cat Fiddlesticks, Annalise Fox, they join a mad admiral, Tanita Sims, and his crazy crew on an adventure that takes them from Old London Docks to the mysterious island of Lumbago.
Miss Kenyon, teaching assistant and show co-ordinator said: "I am thrilled with the response we have had with this witty pirate play. The children have really took on board their parts and to have got it all together in only two weeks is amazing! Well done everyone!"
