This week’s theme was ‘Retreat and Rejoice’ and our Enterprise capability was ‘Decision Making’. This half-term’s focus for Year 7 is ‘Reflection and Evaluation’.
The annual community event ‘We’ve Got Talent’ took place on Wednesday evening with over a hundred people coming along to support the acts. We had a wide range of variety acts, from dancing and singing to instrumentalists.
Congratulations to all of the finalists who all received a medal for taking part in the concert and special congratulations to the trophy winners. First place, KS4, went to The Boys’ Ensemble. Second place, KS4, went to Ellie Whiteman and the overall winner of all categories again was The Boys’ Ensemble. Thank you to Mrs McCoy and to our parents for their support in this.
Several of our pupils won prizes at the Science Challenge Day, which was a huge success. Pupils were assigned to mixed schools teams and completed a range of activities (bridge building/robot building/motor car building and forensics) to compete to win. All pupils who took part showed superb creativity, critical thinking, and team work. Aeron Hartnell-Booth and Josh Haigh were on the team that won the overall prize for the best bridge! Thomas O. Murphy and Yasmin Ruane won the prize for the best overall team across all activities. Congratulations to all pupils who took part!
