Hamer Community Primary School sponsored walk with Springside School

On Wednesday 27 June the children and staff took part in a joint sponsored walk with Springside School to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

The seven miles walk from school to Hollingworth Lake and return was encouraging children to lead a more active lifestyle as well as raising monies for charity.

We are pleased to say that a total amount of £664.20 was raised.

We would like to thank the Beach Hotel at Hollingworth Lake for the kind offer of the use of their function room in case of bad weather. Together with the kind donations of water from Morrisons and Asda supermarkets.

On Friday 29 June a visit was arranged for our Parent Group to visit Smallbridge Library. The event was well attended by eighteen parents who enjoyed stories, reading and sharing poetry. They were entertained by Ray Stern reading poems and he also provided information for joining the library together with details of activities taking place in the school holidays.
