Swimming Gala
Well done to all the children who took part in the swimming galas. The teams did really well. Both girls and boys teams came runners-up in the league gala on Monday.

Eco Week
All the donations from non-uniform day will go towards Oxfam World Water Week. The children have been doing lots of eco activities during this week, e.g. environmental posters, harvesting crops and cooking, studying water aid, forest school work and making ornaments/wind chimes.

Year 3
We are having some visitors from waste management who will be working with both year 3 classes. They will be designing waste superheroes and talking about recycling. 

Year 6 Performance
Year 6 are doing a performance of The Wizard of Oz for parents on Tuesday at 2pm and Wednesday at 6.30pm.

Olympic Raffle
Well done to Adam Kilshaw and Alix Woodward who won the tickets to see the Women’s Football on 31st July at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Year 6
Year 6 children have been to Manchester Cathedral this week for a leaver’s service.

Soccer Academy
Soccer Academy have been in school this week doing soccer skills with all the children. They are running football sessions here at St. Edwards during the week Monday 16th – Friday 20th July. Your child will be receiving a leaflet shortly with full details.

Story Sacs
There will be NO Story Sacs on Tuesday.

Dinner Money
Dinner money should be paid in advance on a Monday morning. Please send it in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Lunch is £1.80 per day - £9 per week.
Money envelopes are on sale from the school office for £1.50.
There is a copy of the menus on the school portal. Next week we are on Week 3.

Picnic Fridays
Don’t forget the last Picnic Friday this week. The price is £1.80.

Music Lessons
Fees for this half term are now due - £14.25. Fees must be paid weekly in order for lessons to continue. Please also send any outstanding music fees into school as soon as possible in order for lessons to continue. Thank you.

Get your Child’s Hair Cut and Help to Raise Money for School
If any child from our school has their hair cut at Regalia Hair on Manchester Road, the owner Ruth has generously offered to donate all the takings to school funds. Cuts are £5 for 1 child; £8 for 2 children; £12 for 3 children and £18 for 4 children. If you would like to book an appointment, phone Ruth on 346347.

Castleton Children’s Centre
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ have now finished until Wednesday 12th September.

Springhill Hospice
If anyone has any discs, dvds, cds or games on disc (in cases/sleeves), Springhill are collecting them for fundraising. Thank you.
