Healey Foundation Primary School

Date published: 04 July 2012

There are now only 7 more days left in this school year. Parents are advised that Healey finishes on 17 July (Tuesday) later than many schools as we took our extra days after Christmas. The last two days will be full of bust activity and a time for Year 6 children to make the most of their final days in primary school. If your child has a school lunch please could we ask that you send £12.60 on Monday to help us sign off the registers. We will also be paying out any leftover credits accrued.

Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Cup last week.

Reception: Harrison Henry and Bradley Shires
Year 1: Olivia Ellison
Year 2: Imogen Zallmann
Year 3: Poppy Rana
Year 4: Ellie Jenkinson
Year 6: Lauren Harden

School attendance hit an all time low at 94% only. Much of this is due to a sicky bug in school, but the children were disappointed all the same!

SPORTS DAY: We are planning to hold Sports Day. We will aim for Monday, weather permitting and if the rain continues we will try for the first fine day after that. Sadly we are unable to positively predict when the sports will take part but a text alert will be sent out with up to date information. The field is very wet due to the consistent rain we have had over the last six weeks so even if dry the grass will have to be checked for safety. If the day goes ahead, the Key Stage 1 (Reception, Year 1 and Year2) will be in the morning, starting as soon as possible after registration and Key Stage 2 (Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6) will be in the afternoon starting as soon as possible after 1:00pm. Parents are encouraged to come along and watch / support, and are asked to sit in the marked areas. The wonderful PTA will also be on hand with tea and coffee.

On Friday the children are being treated to an end of term celebration in the form of Manchester Actors who are coming in to perform ‘Watch out Mr Punch.’

All parents should have received school reports, these were sent out on Friday 6 July. Enclosed in the report is the annual questionnaire which you are asked to complete and return by Wednesday 11 July to be in with a chance of the prize draw for a £25 store voucher. There is an opportunity for you to discuss the content of the report on Tuesday 10th should you wish to do, but this is an informal evening and there are no appointments. The school office have asked that all outstanding accounts – dinners / music / after school clubs are settled before the end of term please.

The last day in school this term is Tuesday 17, school closes then for the long summer holiday.
