Next Tuesday 3 July 2012 the Year 6 children who will be going to a Rochdale Secondary School in September will be spending the day at their new school. They must go straight to their High School. They should not come into Hamer first as transport will not be provided by school.

If your child is in Year 6 and is NOT attending a Rochdale High School from September they need to come into school as normal.

In conjunction with the Year 6 Primary Transition Day, on Tuesday afternoon we will have our new Reception children in school in the afternoon. In addition, the rest of the school will be “moving up” for the afternoon and spending time with their new Class.

What a ‘fantastique’ day we all had on Monday! The children across school worked hard not only to develop their French language skills but also to develop their knowledge of French life and culture. There were so many fantastic learning experiences including: problem solving tasks to build Eiffel Towers, French cafes and food, French songs and rhymes and our very own ‘Tour de France!’ Thanks to all staff and children for joining in with the spirit of the day and to Miss Nicholson for organising and co-ordinating the day

On Tuesday 26 June Miss Mullane took the Year 5 children to Kingsway Park High School. They had a fantastic time joining in science investigations and experiments, History and Food Technology lessons. The children were a credit to us all.

What a brilliant achievement for us all doing the sponsored walk for the British Heart Fund on Wednesday 27 June. Our children behaved absolutely brilliantly and were superb ambassadors for both Hamer Primary School and The British Heart Foundation. Thanks to our School Council for their work over the year and thanks to staff, parents and governors for ensuring we had a great (safe) day. Special thanks to Miss Mills for organising this whole school event off site – what a brilliant experience for us all working together to support ourselves and others.
