Olympic Week
Well done to all the children for making our Olympic Opening ceremony very special. The children all worked really hard making Olympic torches and learning songs and dances.
An Olympic Torch Runner came into school yesterday. He is raising money for cancer research so money raised from the non-uniform day will go towards this worthy cause.
Our closing ceremony will be on Monday which will then open our Eco Week, Green Day.
Olympic Raffle
We are holding a raffle for tickets to see the Women’s Football on 31 July at Old Trafford in Manchester. 1st prize is three tickets and 2nd prize is two tickets. 25p a ticket or £1 a strip.
BIKE-IT – Thursdays!
Don’t forget Bike-It Thursdays. Those children who come on their bikes can have a free breakfast as long as they are in no later than 8.30am.
Year 3/4 Trip
Year 3 and 4 have been on a Trip to Tatton Park this week.
Fun Swims
This week all the children have been to either Heywood or Castleton Baths for a fun swim.
Swimming Gala
Our last league swimming gala is on Monday 2 July at Oulder Hill.
Story Sacs
Next Tuesday 3 July, will be the last Story Sacs session.
Eco Week
Eco Week starts on Monday. Children are invited to come dressed in Green. We are asking for a donation of 50p for wearing non-uniform to go towards Oxfam World Water Week. On Thursday 5 July, we will be having a Fair-Trade Café from 2.30pm-4pm. There will also be tours of the school grounds and the animals during this time. Everyone Welcome. Let’s Get Cooking
We have won £50 for having the most people who took part in the Lets Get Cooking in the Northwest. So well done and thanks to everyone who joined in.
Morrison’s Vouchers
Morrison’s Vouchers will be starting on 20 August so we will be collecting these when we come back in September.
Transition Day
Next Tuesday, 3 July is Transition Day where the children will spend time in their new classes. Year 6 children will be going to their new High Schools.
Soccer Academy
Soccer Academy will be in school on Wednesday to do some taster sessions with the children.
Year 3 require
Please could you send in any empty packets, e.g. crisp packets, shells, newspapers/magazines, tin cans. During our eco-week activities, we are making collages. Thank you.
Dinner Money
Dinner money should be paid in advance on a Monday morning. Please send it in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Lunch is £1.80 per day - £9 per week.
Money envelopes are on sale from the school office for £1.50.
There is a copy of the menus on the school portal. Next week we are on Week 2.
Picnic Fridays
Every Friday the kitchen is having a picnic day. The children will get a sandwich in a picnic box, a drink, a piece of fruit and a cake or biscuit. They are still providing hot meals but if your child would like to try the picnic, you need to let the office know each week by the Wednesday at the latest. The price is £1.80.
There is a form to fill in on the back of this newsletter for next Friday, 6 July.
Music Lessons
Fees for this half term are now due - £14.25. Fees must be paid weekly in order for lessons to continue. Please also send any outstanding music fees into school as soon as possible in order for lessons to continue. Thank you.
Get your Child’s Hair Cut and Help to Raise Money for School
If any child from our school has their hair cut at Regalia Hair on Manchester Road, the owner Ruth has generously offered to donate all the takings to school funds. Cuts are £5 for 1 child; £8 for 2 children; £12 for 3 children and £18 for 4 children. If you would like to book an appointment, phone Ruth on 346347.
