Falinge Park High School
Congratulations to FaizaQureshi, Annapurnima Vimalkumar and Gina Judge who were the winners of our CEPA Faculty Queen’s Diamond Jubilee ‘Design A Gown’ Competition this week. Each winner received a certificate, union jack mug and chocolates. Well done to all who took part in the competition as we received a large number of entries and the standard was very high.
Many thanks to Shawclough Community Primary School who received MsGott, Mr De Courcey, Mr Morley and Ms Boff this week as scientists investigating an alien artefact. Year 4 learners watched a video presentation and took part in a short experiment. Many thanks to all the learners and staff involved.
Year 6 learners joining us in September should now be in receipt of Summer School letters. We have a few places remaining and would welcome applications as soon as possible. Those who are booked on the Summer School will be notified before the 4 of July. Please note that the Summer School takes place from the 23 to the 27 of July at the former CLC building at the back of school. Please come to the back of school rather than the main reception on the first day.
Many thanks to Front Row Theatre Company who joined us to work with Year 9 Technical Theatre learners this week as part of an ongoing Theatre-in-Education Tour. The learners watched a short performance and then took part in workshops featuring question and answer sessions.
Learners across the school should be in receipt of Sponsored Walk letters now. Please ensure that they are returned promptly in order to help us better coordinate the day. Many thanks for your support.
Tickets for our forthcoming show, ‘Tales from the Lonely Lighthouse’ which takes place on Monday 9 July at 7.00pm are available from the CEPA office priced at £3.00.
A reminder that any Year 11 pupils who have not yet paid for and collected their Year Books and/or Prom tickets should do so as soon as possible. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The wrong day has been printed on the tickets. It should read TUESDAY.
The Year 11 Prom is on Tuesday 3 July 2012 from 7.00pm. We are all really looking forward to seeing all our Year 11 students there. It promises to be a great evening. Would all students travelling by coach please meet at Rochdale Town Hall between 6.30pm and 6.40pm, as the coach will be leaving at 6.45pm promptly.
Would all parents please be informed that the price for a school lunch will be increased to £1.85 with effect from 1 September 2012.
