Residents object to ‘Right Price’ licence
Date published: 27 June 2012
The shop owner of the Right Price off licence on Edenfield Road has displayed a notice of intent to apply for a new premise alcohol license.
Residents within the vicinity of the shop are furious at this, as the shop previously had its licence taken away, due to alcohol being sold to underage children. Those that bought alcohol from this shop caused a nuisance to residents.
Locals are objecting to the re-issue of the alcohol licence. They have already distributed objection forms, appealed to the local ward councillors. The local neighbourhood police team are backing the residents by conducting their own internal petitioning process.
Resident, Nigel Leach said: “Having enjoyed the peace since the shop closed and the confirmed crime reduction in the area, we cannot stand by and let the council make the same mistake again.”
