Coffee morning and Big Cake Bake ( . . . and eat!) at St Andrew's, Dearnley, Littleborough
A coffee morning and Big Cake Bake ( . . . and eat!) at St Andrew's, Dearnley, Littleborough on Saturday, June 23 not only put a few pounds on a few bodies but raised £204 for our Wider Welcome fund, which will lead to a complete revamp of the west end of the church, providing bigger and better facilities for community use.
Thanks to all who helped by baking, serving, washing-up or helping to set up and later pull down tables.
Please note also that similar fund-raising coffee mornings will take place on Saturday's July 21, August 18, September 15 and December 15, the last one to be organised around a festive-season theme.
Other events coming up soon include the Vicar's garden party from 3.00pm at Wardle on Saturday, July 28; the Deanery Songs of Praise at 3.00pm on Sunday, September 16; and a big night in church on Saturday, September 29 when the Wigan-based band 'Gifted' will entertain us with Songs from the Shows and other musical favourites.
Many of you will recall that 'Gifted' did a Lancashire Night for us last September. They proved very popular and we are delighted to announce that they will be back with us at the end of September this year. Watch out for announcements about ticket sales etc and any other relevant information.
