Luci Teal running down Bolton Road with the Olympic Torch in front of hundreds of flag-waving locals

Local radio presenter Luci Teal had the honour of running with the Olympic Torch today (Saturday 23 June) in the Rochdale leg of the torch relay.

Luci, 29, ran with the torch for 300m down Bolton Road towards Springfield Park in front of hundreds of flag-waving locals.

Luci is a keen fundraiser as well as being the breakfast show host on Bolton FM. She said: “It’s a great honour to have been chosen to be a torchbearer. I have been waiting for it for so long since I heard and the day came around really quickly. It doesn’t seem real.

“My family have come up all the way from Winchester and I’ve got friends that have come over from Sheffield so yes, there is lots of support for me today.

"It definitely feels a bit weird having all this attention on me.”
