Many thanks to all the parents, learners and friends who joined us for our annual school Awards Evening this week. The event proved a great success and there were an impressive number of students receiving awards from across the school curriculum. Than you to all those who attended and to the students who performed on the night too.

We welcome GW Theatre Company into school this week as they perform their piece ‘Ganged Up!’ to Year 9 learners. The students will watch the 75 minute performance and participate in a workshop based on gang related crime. Further work also takes place in our PSHEE curriculum in the following weeks.

Many thanks to Robin Graham, the laughter facilitator, who joined students in our drama studio to lead a laughter workshop to students from all years after school. Robin used a range of techniques to offer a way of looking at the world in a positive, cheerful way and students enjoyed the activities offered.

Many thanks to the artists of Cartwheel Arts and to parents and friends of school who joined us for our CALL curriculum ‘New Ghosts’ Exhibition. The exhibition featured a range of work from the recent Myths and Legends scheme of work as well as project work based on the theme of new ghost stories. Thanks to all who helped make the exhibition a success.

We say‘hello’ to learners from Shawclough Community School as Ms. Gott, Mr. DeCourcey, Mr Morley and Ms. Boff in Year 4 to tackle the threat of alien invaders in school.
