Healey Primary School
Welcome back to the final half term of this academic year.
The next two weeks are very busy:
On Monday Year 6 are involved in a full day History walk around Rochdale. Year 5 (group 1) are at Hollingworth Lake all day taking part in water activities. The second group will go on Tuesday. The Reception Class September intake, new parents meeting is on Monday at 6:00pm.
On Wednesday, the Reception Class are visiting Smithills Farm. Thursday is the International Day for Year 4 at Oulder Hill and Year 5 are out all day enjoying a Taster Day at Wardle High School. Friday we are having a special assembly from Mr Stuart Sawle who will be talking to the children about the Rotary Shoebox Scheme.
Saturday 23 June is a very important day; This is the day the Olympic Torch is coming through Rochdale and a group of Healey children will be taking part in a record breaking hula hoop routine on The Esplanade. It is planned to organise 500 people to join in a 5 minute hula hoop routine – if they are successful it will be a world record! The children who are taking part are practicing away every day and are showing themselves to be very competent in learning the routine.
The PTA have sent out flyers for the end of term Summer Celebration Barbecue, this year the party will be slightly different, there will be a bouncy castle and games with the music disco starting later in the evening. This will be a licenced event and is taking place on Friday 6 July, 6:00 until 9:30pm.
The PTA Trim Trail is finished! The children were so excited to have a new play area and are having a fabulous time letting off steam. Many thanks to the PTA and parents who have worked so hard this year to provide so much equipment for the children’s play area.
