Talented artists share masterpieces with the public
Date published: 11 June 2012
Talented A Level Art students from Rochdale Sixth Form College will be showcasing their art masterpieces on 18 June, as part of an exhibition being held at the College which will see two years’ worth of A Level coursework on display.
Visitors will be treated to a visual display of fine art, textiles and photography from 53 up-and-coming artists, as well as being welcomed by complimentary refreshments.
Students will also be in attendance to talk through the inspiration and thinking behind each piece.
Art Teacher Stephanie Green comments: “I’d definitely recommend that anyone with an interest in art, or considering studying Art at the College in the future, should come along and see our facilities, and the brilliant pieces our students are creating.”
Alicia France, a student at Rochdale Sixth Form College whose artwork has already been on display at a top London art gallery as part of the Ruth Bouchard Self Portrait Competition, adds: “I’m really proud of the artwork I’ve created over the past two years and am delighted that we’re getting the opportunity to share our pieces with others. I’ve learnt so much during my time at Rochdale Sixth Form College, which will be sure to hold me in good stead for my Fine Art degree course, and future career.”
The Exhibition will be held at Rochdale Sixth Form College’s Art department from 4pm to 6.30pm and entry is free. Tickets are required in advance – for more information please visit www.rochdalesfc.ac.uk or call 01706 769 800.
