Diamond Jubilee: Street Parties
Date published: 04 June 2012
Street parties have been taking place all over the borough to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Over 20 roads across the borough shut for the parties, whilst many smaller gatherings were held in gardens.
The atmosphere at the street parties was superb; a real community spirit, and gave a rare chance to meet neighbours and to play with the children together in a traffic-free street environment.
Children and adults have dressed up in all manner of red, white and blue for the occasion.
Activities ranging from face painting to bouncy castles have been enjoyed, there has been music and dancing plus been food aplenty on offer.
