Falinge Park High School
Thanks to the Year 4 pupils of Broadfield Primary School who took part in a series of Science experiments as an ongoing element of the ‘Alien Invasion!’ project. We look forward to seeing the work you produce soon.
This week the CEPA Faculty held a special Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Lunchtime Party to celebrate the special occasion. The lunchtime party took place on the Music Department corridor and featured a cake sale, Painting by Numbers activity, Mask making activity, CALL work showcase and Queen Evening Gown Costume Design competition. Thanks to all the staff and pupils who came along to make the event special and memorable. Thanks also to Mr Morley who attended in his Town Crier outfit!
Tickets are on sale for our forthcoming ‘Tales from the Lonely Lighthouse’ on the 10 of July priced £3.00. The short drama features a talented cast and an exciting script by our very own Mr De Courcey. Rehearsals are now underway for the show.
We are delighted to be involved in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s ‘I Cinna’ project in July. Year 9 and 10 Drama students will be watching an online show and participating in online interactive tasks as part of the project. See Mr De Courcey for more details.
Many thanks to the Cartwheel Arts artists who have been working with our Year 7 CALL learners over the past few weeks. We have one more session together with the artists after half term and then parents and families will be invited to attend the special exhibition that will take place on 20 of June until 5.00pm. The project has involved the creation of great storybooks and used a range of arts techniques.
Letters for our Drama Summer School have now been issued to Year 6 learners and we are should have hopefully received most of the replies. If you would like your child to attend and have not yet returned your reply, please return your form to Mr De Courcey as soon as possible directly at school.
Year 9 and 10 Drama students will be involved in the National Laughter Festival in June. National Laughter Facilitator, Robin Graham will be in school in the afternoon working with our students and we think the workshop might be filmed for the children’s television programme, ‘Blue Peter’. We will keep you up to date with the project as it develops.
