St Cuthbert's Business and Enterprise College
GCSE and A Level exams are now well under way. Study rooms are available for all students who are not in a timetabled exam. Please note the paved area around the back of the sports hall is not available at breaks and lunch times during the exam period – please use the senior yard, all weather pitch and fields for playing ball games.
‘Well done’ form 7.3 for your weekly attendance of 98% and congratulations to Jessica Gemmel, form 7.8, the weekly attendance challenge winner.
Congratulations to the Year 7 Girls netball team who are the winners of the Rochdale league. Well done to the Year 7 Girls tag rugby team winners of the Rochdale Cup: they will now go on to represent Greater Manchester in the County Cup. The Year 7 Girls rounders team came runners up in the Rochdale Schools League: well done to them too.
Year 7 Football - Congratulations to Mathieu Murekate, form 7.5, who was voted the Players’ Player of the Year. Well done to Scot Cullen, 7.7, voted the Manager’s Player of the Year.
Year 8 pupils are currently working on a Year 8 School Anthem, inspired by our national anthem and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The winning anthem will be sung in a Year 8 assembly after half term. Two Year 10 GCSE Art groups are scheduled to visit the CLC in Middleton for a full day on Monday 11th June to work on a project entitled ‘Identity’.
This week’s theme was The Sacred Heart. Our Enterprise capability was CREATIVITY and this half-term’s focus for Year 7 is PROBLEM SOLVING.
The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for all parents, parishioners and local businesses who wish to produce resources or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
