Inmates down from prison roof
Date published: 30 May 2012
Two inmates who had got on to the roof of HMP Buckley Hall prison have now come down, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has confirmed.
An MoJ spokesperson said both men had got on to the roof earlier at the category C prison in Rochdale.
The prison opened in 2000 as a private jail but has since reverted to a Prison Service-owned men's jail.
Specialist staff were called in to negotiate with the inmates.
The low-rise jail houses prisoners who are "willing to address offending behaviour and engage in programmes with a view to progression to category D status".
