Half of Year 7 CALL learners had a great day at Leeds Museum and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Tuesday. The learners in our ‘F’ cohort completed work in both locations and an enjoyable day was had by all. Many thanks to parents and families for the prompt collection of children. The ‘K’ cohort Year 7 learners will be going on Tuesday 29th May and should meet in the Lower Year Centre at 8.20am. Let’s hope the weather is as brilliant as it was last Tuesday.
There are still a few places left for Drama Summer School for Year 6 learners joining us in September. Many thanks to all the families who sent in forms so promptly. Please can all forms, including the data consent forms, medical forms, and agreement forms be sent to Mr. DeCourcey as soon as possible in order to secure a place.
The latest edition of the ‘Create’ Art magazine has now been issued across school and on our school website. The magazine features news of our latest Arts projects and achievements. Copies are available directly from school upon request and have been issued to Community groups.
Rehearsals for our forthcoming drama, ‘Tales from the Lonely Lighthouse’ are now underway. Tickets are available from school directly priced at £3.00. Seats are very limited and advance booking is advised. Please contact the school CEPA office for more details.
Many thanks to the four artists from Cartwheel Arts who are busy helping Year 7 CALL learners finish their ‘New Ghosts’ project work over the next few weeks. Learners have created their own ghost story books and used various arts techniques. The finished works will be on displays as part of an exhibition next half term.
All the tickets for the Prom must be collected by Friday 1st June, before we go on our Half Term break. Please see Ms. Gott with any concerns. There are still a few tickets left if anyone wishes to join us.
We said goodbye to the Year 11’s this week as they left for study leave. We wish you all well in your exams, and look forward to seeing you later at the Prom in July 2012.
