Year 4 Swimming

As you may know a new leisure centre is opening in Rochdale on the 1 July. This has caused slight adjustments to our year 4 swimming programme. From the
13 June to the 27 June (inclusive) there will be no swimming lessons. Lessons will re-commence on the 4 July (this will also be the last swimming session this school year) in the new leisure centre.

Attendance

The winner of the attendance certificate for week ending 18 May 2012 was Scarlet class with 100% attendance. Very well done Scarlet class. The overall attendance for the school was 96.3%.

Unit one

Please ensure that all children have a sunhat in school and that sun cream is applied in the morning as they have access to play outdoors for most of the day. Children will not be able to go outside unless they are equipped for the warm weather. We can also not stress enough how important it is to clearly label all items of your child’s clothing, especially shoes and not forgetting sunhats when they are brought in. Please note staff are not responsible for lost clothing and a lot of time is being wasted looking for unlabelled items. If you do think your child has come home in another child’s property please return them to school as soon as possible.

Holiday during school time

Can I remind you that children should not be withdrawn from school during term time for a holiday. If it is exceptional circumstances it may be authorised only if you have completed the required paperwork from the school office. School must pass this information to the DfES which now keeps a record about all the children in the country. I cannot authorise more than ten days for any reason.

Holiday

Can I remind you that school closes on Friday, 1 June at 3.15 p.m. for the Whitsun holiday week and re-opens on Monday, 11 June 2012.
