Hamer Community Primary School

On Friday 1 June we will be celebrating the Diamond Jubilee together with Springside School. The children will have the opportunity to enjoy their very own ‘Street Party!’
This will include party food over the lunchtime period which the kitchen will be providing. If your child usually has a packed lunch or goes home for their dinner, you will receive a letter advising how your child can order a dinner from school on this day. If you want your child to have their own packed lunch as usual they will of course still be part of the celebrations.
The next Joint Curriculum Day will be Friday 25 May. Our overall theme this year has been ‘The Creative Arts’!’. The children across our site will be working together learning and performing various playground chants and songs. This term’s theme is ‘Singing and Song!’ Weather permitting (!) we are hoping to be able to perform our songs/chants on the playground in the afternoon.
For the week ending 18 May the winners of the Good Citizens Award is the Foundation Stage for an excellent assembly all about your IPC Topic – Flowers and Plants. Well done!
Well done to both Mrs. Casey’s class and Mrs. Connolly’s classes who are the joint winners of the best attendance award for the week ending 18 May 2012
The children who have been attending the recent after school Dance/Theatre workshops got their opportunity to show their new learnt skills to family and friends when they performed during a special show in Shaw on Sunday.
We would like to thank parents and friends who attended this performance to support the children and hope you all enjoyed this event. We would also like to thank Mrs Coward for organising and managing this opportunity for school – what a great experience!
