Matthew Moss new Creative Media Studio Grand Opening

Date published: 21 May 2012

Here at Matthew Moss, we are proud to announce the opening of our brand new Music, Video and Photography studio, and what better way to celebrate than to record one of our fantastic school bands, Moose Patrol!

Moose Patrol consists of three year 11 students, Adam Lee, Adam Bostock and Conner Hanmer. The band are full of energy and play a mixture of covers and original music, all of which are foot-tappingly-awesome.

The studio is powered by Pro Tools, which is the state of the art music production tool used by professionals worldwide. As well as fantastic equipment, our school is fortunate enough to have its very own Pro Tools Certified Sound Engineer, who ensures any studio sessions run smoothly, and the music is mixed down to a professional level.

Our studio features a main recording room, large enough to fit a full band, a control room which is used for mixing, mastering and controlling the sessions, and also three other breakout rooms to isolate further instruments from the main room.

As well as professional quality audio recording, the studio offers chroma key video technology, allowing learners to be filmed in front of green and blue screen, just like in the movies or television. Photographers also have the joy of using the space as a Photography studio, which is equipped with professional studio lighting and photography equipment, all of which are used by our very own Photography Club.

This quality of studio and in-house expertise is rarely seen at colleges and universities, but we are fortunate enough to house this technology right here at Matthew Moss High School.
The creative possibilities offered by the studio are endless, which really encourages our students to be more creative with their work.

Be sure to keep your ears open for our latest music releases from m-Records, our school record label, which will be promoting music recorded in our studio, by our students.

The future is loud for Matthew Moss!
