Consecration of Dearnley graveyard extension
Date published: 16 May 2012
On Tuesday the Dearnley graveyard extension was consecrated with a short service of blessing and dedication by the Rt Revd Mark Davies, Bishop of Middleton. Also present was the Diocesan Registrar Mrs Jane Monks.
Rev Sharon Jones of St Andrew's, Dearnley said: "Increasingly we find that people want to have a local resting place for their loved ones; somewhere within their own community in a familiar environment where families can come to find comfort and strength. Dearnley Cemetery, landscaped, maintained and surrounded by the hills is a beautiful and peaceful place."
