Next week is the annual Senior Citizens Tea Party. All children should have brought home an invitation for grandparents and elderly friends, if you would like to bring someone along please can you make sure the school office knows so we can be confident we have catered for all guests. The children will be serving tea and cakes and entertaining the ladies and gentlemen on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 until 3:00pm.

On Monday we are excited to be welcoming the Music Service for a percussion assembly. Year 6 will be relaxing after their tests by travelling to Middleton CLC for their Jubilee Souvenir Technology Workshop on Monday afternoon. The children who have taken part so far have come back with some fabulous souvenirs, they have made a range of projects from celebration Diamond Jubilee aprons to personalised money boxes. We have another special assembly on Tuesday, Debbie Barker from Medequip4kids is coming to talk about an exciting sponsored keep fit walk for the whole school.

The following week is the last week before the half term holiday which this year includes 2 bank Holidays to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Year 4 in particular have been planning a special day to help us celebrate. Mrs Proctor the cook has joined in and we are hoping for fine weather so we can have a picnic lunch that day plus games and activities indoors and outdoors. Year 4 are also doing a Jubilee Assembly. Parents will be sent information later.

Well done to the children who were awarded the Achievement Cup last Friday:

Reception Dominic Bearsdsworth
Year 1 Hannah Keatings
Year 2 Paul Marsden
Year 3 Kian Dolan
Year 4 Andrew Trevillion
Year 5 Leneta Hey
Year 6 Jack Reeves

Best attendance was Year 2 with a fabulous 100% and overall school attendance was 97.3%.

Parents of Year 6 children – the SATs have now been completed and sent away for marking. The papers are unlikely to be returned before mid June, but final result should be here in time for inclusion in the Annual School Report which will be sent out 6th July.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the PTA Fashion Show last month. The event finally raised £573. The PTA are now able to purchase two special games picnic tables thanks to their splendid efforts. The Rag Bag collection is also doing well, thanks too for all the contributions. The collection bank is situated in the car park by the cycle shed and bags if you need them are available from the reception area.
