This week’s theme was Our Lady. Our Enterprise capability was COMMUNICATION and this half-term’s focus for Year 7 is PROBLEM SOLVING
We are pleased to announce the final sum for our Lenten charities fundraising is just over £5,075. This is a record all time highest amount for St Cuthbert’s and we are extremely grateful to everyone who has fundraised and donated. Thank you.
Year 7 news - Attendance Challenge - Congratulations to Alan Kerwin, form 7.9, and well done form 7.7 our weekly attendance winners with a brilliant 99%. Well done to the Year 7 boys football team who are the champions of Rochdale Schools league. They also came runners up in the Rochdale schools cup final - a very successful season for the boys.
Many congratulations to year 7 who have raised a fantastic amount of £3,600 for their Lenten charity, Francis House. The money was raised from various enterprising activities including The Big Fun Run, cake sales, raffles, tombolas and Mr Lockett (one of the year 7 form tutors) taking part in the London Marathon. Well done to the following pupils who managed to run the furthest distance in Year 7’s Big Fun Run: Pippa Ulla, Matthew Haynes, Scot Cullen and Lois Disanka.
Homework club is open at 12.30 each lunch time in L3 with Mrs Whitmore and Mrs Rushton and Year 7 learners can now enjoy St Cuthbert's daily radio broadcast each lunch time in the Year 7 area. A reminder that late detentions and smart card detentions are now served after school, this is in line with whole school procedures.
The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for all parents and local businesses who wish to produce resources or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
