Rochdale Unitarian Church
The Mayor and Mayoress, Prof Stephen Yeo, Chairman of the Co-operative Heritage Trust in Manchester, and Simon Danczuk, MP, are to attend a special celebratory Service of Worship at Rochdale Unitarian Chruch on Sunday 13 May at 2.30 pm to mark the International Year of Co-operatives.
Rochdale played a distinctive part in laying the foundations for the modern Co-operative movement, and the original Unitarian Chapel which stood on the site of our current building was frequently dubbed the “Co-op Chapel” because so many of the original pioneers worshipped there. We have pleasure in extending a very warm invitation to be present with us at the Unitarian Church on Clover Street for this special occasion.
There will be no morning service on 13 May.
The Book Circle will meet at 7.30 pm on Monday 14 May to discuss Victoria Hislop's 'The Thread'.
The Modern Sequence dance will start at 7.15 pm on Saturday 19 May. The whist drives starts at 6.45 pm.
All are welcome to join us on Sunday 20 May at 10.30 am for our Anniversary Service. This will be led by our minister, Rev Gillian Peel, and our student minister, Shammy Webster.
