Hamer Community Primary School

Thank you to all parents for your continued support in ensuring your child is wearing appropriate school uniform every day. We must reiterate the importance though of why some items of uniform must adhere to our policies for Health & Safety reasons as outlined in the Parent Handbook and in conjunction with our ethos linked to the children’s assertive mentoring files.

Jewellery must not be worn by our children. Newly pierced ears must be studs and covered by tape for 6 weeks then they can safely be removed during school time. Shoes need to be sensible and fit for purpose in a school environment. Headbands and scarves can be worn in school but they must be black, grey or red and plain in design. Headbands and bobbles must not have flowers or attachments.

Year 5 children recently experienced Forest School curriculum their attitude to learning has been both sensible and mature and they have been amazing in their observations and practical work. Well done!

Congratulations to this week’s winner of the Good Citizens Award Mr Alexander’s Class for moving around school as a class very quietly! Well done!

Our parents who have been attending the phonic sessions are doing extremely well and we would like to congratulate them for their hard work and achievement

The story time sessions for new nursery entrants every Friday at 11am continue to be very popular. We still do have a very limited number of nursery places available for children who will be 3 years old by September 1 2012. Please see Miss Bradshaw or the school office for more details.

Well done to Mrs Terry’s class who are the winners of the best attendance award for the week ending 4 May 2012. Please continue to support us by ensuring that your child is on time.
