Get involved in composting at home
Residents who get involved in composting at home between 6 - 12 May are being offered the chance to win a compost bin and £100 of garden centre vouchers to spend on their garden.
Everyone who visits the beginners and family fun class to composting at Debdale Eco Centre on Saturday 12 May, road shows or the Recycle for Greater Manchester website will be entered into the prize draw.
You may have a food and garden waste collection at home but composting means that you will reap the rewards of turning your waste into nutritious and environmentally friendly compost.
Helen Dodd Coordinator at Debdale Eco Centre said: “Home composting is a simple and cheap way of dealing with up to a third of a typical family’s waste bin. Compost made at home can help the planet; keep our gardens in bloom and even our vegetables growing.”
In the past celebrities such as Helen Mirren, Phillippa Forrester and Chris Evans have added their active support to the campaign to compost at home.
