RE Inspection news!

We have now had our recent RE Inspection report. We are very pleased with the outcome of the inspection and by now all reports and letters to pupils have been sent home.

Quote:
‘St John’s is a good Catholic school with many outstanding or excellent features.’
Also ‘Parents expressed a high level of commitment to the school because it is a Catholic school recognising that their children were respected and valued for their unique gifts and qualities’.

Curriculum Newsletters

The children will have brought home a curriculum newsletter by the time you are reading this article. Please read through it and continue to support the learning being done at school by discussing their work with your child and by ensuring that all home work is completed.

Help to make our school an excellent school

Our teaching staff is working very hard to give your child or children the very best start to their education which will help them to achieve a better living in their later years.

We need your co-operation in this by ensuring that your child or children attend the school every day unless absolutely necessary.

If your child has the need to be absent from school due to a medical condition or illness then we can provide work for your child to complete at home so that they do not fall behind in their education.

In all the school inspections, absenteeism plays a large part in the outcome of these inspections, the higher the absenteeism the lower grade for the school. So please think before you decide about keeping your child from school, and if they perk up later in the day, please send them to school.

Visit from Rochdale Hedgehog Rescue

On Tuesday, 24 April, classes F2 and Rec/1 had a visit from Rochdale Hedgehog Rescue as part of their learning of new life.

They were shown a young hedgehog (Steven) which was nearly fully grown and a beautiful barn owl (Ghost). Through questions and answers, the children learned how owls and hedgehogs live, their natural habitats and what they eat.
