Is the feeling mutual?
Date published: 26 April 2012
The first tenant and employee elections to the new RBH Representative Body will begin shortly following the establishment of the UK’s largest housing mutual.
RBH has earned the prestige of being not only the largest but also the first housing mutual to involve both tenants and employees.
In order to take part in the election process both tenants and employees have to sign up for membership by the 15 May.
RBH Chief Executive Officer, Gareth Swarbrick, said: “The new mutual enables both tenants and employees to have a stronger voice in the way RBH is run and managed but they have to become a member in order to do this. The Representative Body will have the greatest influence in the new mutual and its important that as many Members as possible are involved in the voting process.”
In addition to voting rights Members of the mutual will receive regular newsletters and updates as well as invites to exclusive events. They have the opportunity to vote in the forthcoming elections or stand for election to the new Representative Body. This is the Body that will help to set policies - giving direction to the Board of Directors to ensure that services delivered best meet the needs of RBH tenants and communities.
Members who are interested in standing for election to the Representative Body need to submit an application between the 8 and 21 May. There are opportunities to find out more about the Representative Body, the election process and what is involved in the role of Representative by attending an information session.**
