Local residents and councillors are pleased at the return of a Royal Mail Post Box to Hartley Lane.
The previous post box was removed last autumn because it had been vandalised and was deemed a public hazard.
After community attempts to get a replacement seemed to be getting nowhere, local Councillors Pat Colclough and Dale Mulgrew got involved and Royal Mail swiftly installed a new post box.
Counillor Colclough said: "It is great the post box has been returned to this location for the Hartley Lane community."
"There has been a sense of irritation that this replacement has taken some time to be delivered. However, it is here now and it means the elderly residents who live locally will have their ease of access restored."
"This is a happy ending all round."
