The children in Reception enjoyed a day at Tandle Hill Country Park on Thursday to launch their new IPC Topic. Thank you to the parents who volunteered to go with the children and staff for the day.

All Key Stage 2 children have received a letter to invite them to take part in a four week project. This project gives the children the opportunity to work with the Saltatia Vita Dance Company culminating in a performance at the end. The cost is £5.00 per child. There are only 20 places available and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. I hope you are able to support your child to join in if he/she is in Year 3 .4, 5 or 6

Our newly formed school choir continues to go from strength to strength. The children who were successful during the auditions now meet every Wednesday lunchtime to have lessons with the Rochdale Music Service and we look forward to many fine performances to come!

Congratulations to winner of the Good Citizens Award Mrs Hoyles’ Class for being flexible.

As the Key Stage 2 SAT’s test approach us, there are now two school booster sessions that take place on a Monday and a Thursday until 3.50pm. Please ensure your child attends if they are in Year 6 – thank you.

Concerns have been raised about children crossing the roads near school after school. We ask that parents continue to ensure that your child is aware of road safety and we would request that you help us to keep all the children safe by observing road safety rules for the benefit of all users of Hamer School.
